When should you move from Free POS to Register?
Five signs your business already needs the paid plan, what it really costs, and what happens to your data when you switch.
KupaLi's free plan does not end after a month. It has no expiry date, and you can stay on it as long as your business fits within its limits.
My rule: upgrade when the same limit has stopped you twice in the same month. A feature you might need one day can wait.
Five signs it's time
The first is another person behind the counter. The free plan has one user. The moment an employee or family member sells while you're on a break, they sell under your user, and then you can no longer tell who sold what.
Another sign is your sales pace. The plan includes 300 receipts a month. If you've already issued more than 150 in the first two weeks of the month, you'll hit the cap before the month ends. Example: ten sales a day, 26 days a month, is 260 sales. Twelve a day already reaches 312, over the cap. Went over 300 receipts? In the first month you only get a notice. A second month in a row over 300, and the POS stops from the 1st of the next month until you upgrade. Sign-in, reports and accountant export stay open.
Inventory is a sign too. When you start asking how many of an item are left and checking by eye on the shelf, it's time for basic inventory in the system. It's included in the Register plan, not in the free plan.
If you know customers by name and want to see what they bought last time, customer cards are also in Register. This is especially useful in a business where people order ahead, like a flower shop or a small bakery.
The fifth sign is reports. Want to see how much you sold this week or this month in one click? On the free plan you see a report for one day at a time. On Register, any date range.
And beyond the five signs: if you've opened a second branch, there's nothing to debate. The free plan is for one branch only.
And when not yet
A friend told you a loyalty club changed his business? If you don't have a list of regular customers yet, a club won't help.
Saw a feature in a demo that excited you? Ask yourself when in the last two weeks you actually needed it.
If only the month before the holidays goes over 300, contact support before it arrives and check what's right for your account.
The math on ₪79
The Register plan costs ₪79 per branch per month plus VAT. In a business open about 26 days a month, that's roughly three shekels per working day. With an annual subscription you pay for ten months and get twelve. That's ₪790 a year plus VAT.
Set that price against what the limit costs you today. If once a week you stop a sale because someone else can't get into the POS, or search the stockroom for a product because there's no inventory data, think about how much time that takes you each month.
Say twice a week you wait five minutes for someone to sign out of the POS, or walk to the stockroom to check if there's stock left. That's about 40 minutes a month. If forty minutes of your time are worth more than ₪79, the math is clear.
On the Register plan, billing is per branch, not per employee, so extra employees don't add to the monthly bill.
And if the math doesn't add up, stay on the free plan.
What you get with Register
The plan is built for a normal working day: POS, receipts and unlimited products, basic inventory, customer cards, reports for any date range and data export. It has no limit on branches, employees or number of sales. Billing is per branch.
Above it is the Smart POS plan, at ₪119 per branch per month plus VAT. It adds a loyalty club, promotions, purchasing, advanced inventory and team management tools. For a business whose problem is a second employee or more than 300 sales a month, Register is enough. Smart POS is worth checking when questions come up about promotions, supplier orders or inventory in several locations.
What happens to your data when you switch
The switch happens in the same system. Products, sales and history stay, and there's no need to re-enter the catalog. Want to upgrade? Write to us at support@kupali.co.il.
The monthly subscription has no setup fee and no commitment. If you cancel, the cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing cycle. And under the terms of use, at the end of the paid period the account goes back to the free plan, and its limits come back too: one user, one branch and 300 receipts a month.
Want to check before you decide?
The free plan is permanently ₪0, with no end date. Choose a paid upgrade only when the limits or features are no longer enough for your business.
If you're already on the free plan, write down which limits or features justify an upgrade.
Write down every feature your business needs and check which plan includes it.
Paid plan features are not added automatically to the free plan.
